About Carroll Cobb
Carroll leverages her background and experience as a psychologist and lawyer to craft epic tales blending science fiction with historical or speculative fiction. Each book of "The Aggran Chronicles" pentalogy can be read as an entertaining tale of magic, mystery, adventure, and romance. But beneath the surface lies a deeper exploration of human nature and the law of unintended consequences. Her characters and their stories are shaped by her observation of human psychology and her understanding of the role that legal systems have played throughout history. Are humans hard-wired for violence and war?
The "Aggran Chronicles" challenge the reader to imagine what might have happened when technologically advanced visitors from planet Aggra interacted with humans on Earth during various historical periods. “Imperfect Utopia” published in 2025 begins the series and introduces the utopian world of planet Aggra, a rigid society in which perfection is the norm and crime is unheard of. But their society is shattered by a murder. How did the fallout from this event change their world and impact life on Earth and elsewhere?
“The Visitor," the second book of the Aggran Chronicles is set in prehistoric Mayan Mexico. An Aggran visitor changes the life of an ordinary Mayan man and together, they change history. Carroll is presently working on the third book in the series, entitled "Mythic Warriors." It continues the story of the mythic heroes Hana, A Mayan, Nizaga, an Aggran, and Rayba, A Magran and builds on the theme of unintended consequences when disparate cultures collide. It features strong female protagonists from different cultures who work together to make their world a safer place. "The Visitor" was released in June, 2026. "Mythic Warriors" will be released in late 2026 or early 2027. Two more books are planned in this series.
Carroll was a successful attorney and business owner before retiring to Mexico to begin a new life as a writer. There, she creates her long, complex tales and enjoys traveling to historical sites gathering material for future books. She and her wife Jettie live on a ranch near Lake Chapala with their two dogs Molly and Izzy and their cat, Kiki.
